We are an interfaith group of faith communities and individuals in the Greater Philadelphia area who work together to maintain a relationship with the people of El Salvador. As a member of the U.S.El Salvador Sister Cities network, we have a personal and institutional connection with the rural community of Las Anonas and, by extension, with the municipality of Tecoluca and the province of San Vicente. Our constituent congregations include St. Vincent's Parish (Philadelphia, PA), Central Baptist Church (Wayne, PA), Tabernacle United Church (Philadelphia, PA) and Congregation Mishkan Shalom (Philadelphia, PA).

"People say a trip like this is life changing. One way it's affected me is that I feel as if I've become a world citizen. I'm now connected to a part of the world I had known little about." Katherine, 2002 delegation

"We connected through the arts, hospitality, and smiles. Intellectually, we know that all of humanity is connected, but the power of the personal experience proves yet again that we are all god's children, all striving to live out our lives the best we can." Lynn, 2002 delegation

"One morning in Las Anonas, the three women who diligently cooked every meal for us sat and talked about their lives. Their daily routine is filled with grinding corn, preparing meals, and household chores and some work in the fields too. As I sat among this circle of women, I thought to myself, "This is exactly where I am supposed to be at this moment; this is why I came on this trip." The simple exchange made the world seem so much smaller, more tangible. That was the moment I really understood what 'solidarity' meant. I was given the gift of their story, a witness to their truth." Jeanne Marie, 2002 delegation
